York has had some superb pop ups in recent years including evenings from a certain Neil Bentinck before Skosh opened, the energetic Street Cleaver and the ever intriguing Kiosk. Now adding their name to that illustrious list is Origin, who are following up a successful evening at the Brew & Brownie with an event over on Bishy Rue at the Pig & Pastry on 30th June and 1st July.
Aptly named chef Phillip Veal hails from Birmingham and takes inspiration from "food memories created with families and friends", aiming to help diners enjoy an experience that will provide them with new memories to treasure.
While the menu for the P&P event is still being fine tuned, you can take a look at their site over at http://www.originyork.co.uk to get an idea of what's on offer. The seven courses will run you £38 a head and are selling out quickly. This has all the makings of an excellent evening and a promising future in our city!
